"Güleryüz established his distinct and vigorous signature painting style by the late 1980's. The main characteristics of his compositional arrangements, spatial structures, paint handling, imagery and content have persisted through his subsequent paintings, and his characteristic urgency and energy have prevailed. In the 1990s, the physical vigor Güleryüz would pour into the paintings, and the volcanic urgency they could radiate back to the viewer, became cataclysmic, even apocalyptic."
